Current Studies

Currently, Ken is studying in the Show Production and Touring program at Full Sail University. Ken has already received a Bachelors Degree from Full Sail in the Film program. Ken chose to continue his educational adventure in Show Pro because of his love for production in live events.

Ken is currently taking coursework in:

Sports Broadcast Engineering (SBE)
The Sports Broadcast Engineering Course is designed to introduce students to the exciting world of broadcast production which includes events such as basketball, football, baseball, golf, Olympic games and stock car races. The course highlights the many specific jobs needed for remote location live broadcast events. Students study microphone placement charts to learn the unique techniques of live broadcast production. Each student engineers in a broadcast mix simulator where they mix actual event audio while laying their mix to video.

Show Production Computer-Aided Systems (SPCS)
The SPCS course provides students with training in the analysis of room acoustics. Visualization programs for real time audio analysis are studied. Sound system design, diagnostics interface programs and computer-aided analysis systems are all featured elements of the Show Production Computer-Aided Systems Course.

During my recent troubles with my Ford Freestyle (if you own one with similar troubles, share your story on the facebook page, and report the issue to the NHTSA.) The car “started to accelerate by itself. And nearly plowed into the car and pedestrians in front of me.” If I asked you to name the make and model of the car involved in the above incident, I doubt the Ford Freestyle would leap to mind. But that quote was from an owner of a [...]

I am typing this on my iPhone 3GS running iOS4 using an Apple wireless keyboard. I am pretty good with my thumbs on the iPhones glass surface keyboard. The iPad is a bit larger, so I revert to my normal hunt and peck style. Since i hunt and peck, I always look at my keys, [...]

Featured iPhone App

TomTom International.

I downloaded the TomTom iPhone app the other day, and I highly recommend it to all iPhone users who need a good GPS application. It is a great app to add to your iPhone. I plan on using it in addition to the Google Maps app. It is available in the iTunes store for both the iPhone 3G and 3GS. It is a little costly, though. But worth it. I do think it should be an app that is embeded to the orignial OS install of the iPhone, though...

The grad has found plenty of work in Louisiana's booming film industry

Jose Figueroa-Baez on the set in Louisiana

The state of Louisiana brings to mind a number of cultural hallmarks. There’s Mardi Gras, jazz, ornate architecture, and great Creole food – but it’s probably safe to say this isn’t the first place you think of when it comes to filmmaking.

Over the past couple of years however, Louisiana has quickly become a new hot spot for motion picture and television production, thanks to special tax incentives, and a growing influx of talent to the area. Among them is Full Sail Film graduate Jose Figueroa-Baez, who moved to New Orleans shortly after graduation to pursue his career as a freelance...
